Importance of Women´s Involvement in Peace and Security (UNSCR 1325) on the agenda of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation under Czech Chairmanship

On Wednesday 2 October 2019, the topic of women´s involvement in peace and security with a focus on armed forces was on the agenda of a Security Dialogue at the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation.

The Chairman of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation Ambassador Ivo Šrámek stressed the importance of our common continued commitment to UNSCR 1325 as essential tool to achieve and maintain peace and security, as there are still challenges in achieving effective, consistent and cross-cutting implementation of this document. He reminded that next year, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this landmark document, highlighting the importance of full and equal participation of women and men in all efforts for the maintenance and promotion of peace and security. Col. Magdalena Dvořáková from the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces addressed the FSC audience as well as representatives from Canada and Sweden.
