
Farewell to Ambassador Ivo Šrámek at the OSCE Permanent Council on the occasion of the completion of his mission in Vienna

On 24 July 2025, Ambassador Ivo Šrámek attended his final session of the OSCE Permanent Council as the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the OSCE. The Chairperson of the Permanent Council, Ambassador Vesa Häkkinen (FI CiO), commended his seven-year tenure at the helm of the Czech Mission in Vienna and highlighted his outstanding contributions to multilateral diplomacy, defence of human rights and democracy, as well as consistent support for international norms and standards.
During his mandate, Ambassador Šrámek chaired key OSCE bodies, including the Human Dimension Committee and the Forum for Security Co-operation, and also presided over other major international institutions such as the IAEA Board of Governors, the CTBTO Preparatory Commission, and the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. His work was marked by a consistent advocacy of OSCE values, support for Ukraine, and active engagement in crisis management during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Šrámek leaves a lasting legacy as a respected diplomat who significantly contributed to strengthening the role of the Czech Republic in international organizations in Vienna and beyond.
