Deputy Minister Marian represented Czechia at the meeting of the Reinforced Permanent Council on the current challenges of the OSCE

On September 26, 2023, Deputy Minister Jan Marian spoke at a meeting of the Reinforced OSCE Permanent Council (by ministers and other high-level representatives of OSCE participating States) which was dedicated to the debate on urgent challenges the organization is currently facing. In his statement, he underlined that the OSCE must remain functional, and announced the Czech Republic's constructive approach in this regard. In this context, he particularly thanked the current Chairpersonship-in-Office of North Macedonia for its strong leadership in the difficult times, and supported Estonia as a candidate for the OSCE Chairpersonship-in-Office for 2024. He also supported renewing mandates of the OSCE Secretary General and the heads of all three OSCE autonomous institutions for another term. Furthermore, he also underlined that it is necessary that the OSCE budget is adopted and that the organization receives the funds needed to efficiently function across all three dimensions.
