Continuing OSCE Structured Dialogue

The current Italian OSCE Chairmanship has declared its determination to support the continuation of the OSCE Structured Dialogue, building on the activities and results achieved in the framework of the Structured Dialogue in 2017. The Italian OSCE Chairmanship has appointed Ambassador of Belgium P. Huynen as a Chairman of the Structured Dialogue for 2018.

The process of the Structured Dialogue was launched by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg in December 2016. It should address politico-military issues and explore, through dialogue, possibilities and options for overcoming divergences, reversing current negative developments in European security and reinvigorating co-operation and renewing trust. The leading principles of the dialogue are transparency, respect and inclusiveness. During the year 2017 a number of meetings in the framework of the Structured Dialogue have taken place under the Chairmanship of Ambassador of Germany E. Pohl, which proved, according to OSCE Participating States, the usefulness and added value of the OSCE Structured Dialogue.
