Ambassador Šrámek took part in a Joint Committee Meeting on the Security Sector Governance/Reform

On Monday 1 July 2019, Ambassador I. Šrámek as Chair of the Human Dimension Committee, took part, together with the Chairman of the Economic – Environmental Committee K. Sarybay and Chairman of the Security Committee L. Cuesta, in a Joint Meeting of these three Committees to discuss the issue of Security Sector Governance/Reform - SSG/R.
The topic is one of the priorities of the current SK OSCE CiO, based on the assumption that a well-governed, transparent and inclusive security and justice institutions and services, based on the rule of law and the respect for human rights, are vital to create and build trust between the State and its population. The aim of the joint meeting was to underline important aspects of all three dimensions as indispensable elements of an integrated approach to SSG/R support and discuss how further strengthen cross-dimensional approaches.
The following panelists addressed the audience: L. Zannier (HCNM), V. Žugič (Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities), K. Gardapkhadze (ODIHR) and D. Cosgrove (TNTD, OSCE Secretariat).
