Senators Ms. Miluše Horská and Ms. Zuzana Baudyšová visited the European Broadcasting Union

Vice-President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Senator Ms. Miluše Horská and Senator Ms. Zuzana Baudyšová, both members of the Standing Committee on Media of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, visited on October 21, 2016 Headquarters of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Geneva. EBU unites 73 member organizations from 56 countries, which operate 820 television and 1,156 radio stations. Their potential auditors are around 1 billion people.
Senate delegation was accompanied by the EBU Joint Head of Member Relations Ms. Radka Betcheva who acquainted the delegation with the functioning of this international organization and forms of cooperation among its members. The Senators had subsequently chance to discuss with her and other EBU employees about the status and funding of public institutions in Europe, cooperation of EBU with other international organizations such as Council of Europe or the European Union, or EBU training programmes for journalists. They also visited newsroom located in the EBU building.
