EFDRR: Czechia renew its commitments to Disaster Risk Reduction

On 21-23 November 2018 the representatives of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, the academic sphere, the General Directorate of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and Permanent mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Office in Geneva participated in the biennial European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction (EFDRR) in Rome. The conference enable to exchange experience and best practices related to the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in the European region.
During a working session called “Gender-sensitive DRR” the Czech panellist Pavel Danihelka underlined the importance of gender-equality for disaster risk reduction, stressed the opportunities for women and shared experience of the Czech Republic in this area.
