
UPR43: Czechia will participate in the human rights review of UN Member States

The 43rd session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), an intergovernmental mechanism examining human rights situation in UN Member States, will take place from 1 to 12 May 2023. Czechia will participate in the reviews of eight countries.
During the 43rd session of the UPR, Czechia will participate in the reviews of France, Romania, Mali, Botswana, Montenegro, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and Serbia. Other reviewed countries are Tonga, Bahamas, Burundi, Luxembourg, Barbados and Liechtenstein.
The UN Human Rights Council will adopt final reports of the reviews at its 54th session in Autumn 2023. The report serves as guiding documents for the implementation of the adopted recommendations. The next UPR of these countries will take place in five years. Meanwhile reviews of other UN Member States will be held.
