The Czech Republic supported the call for the ATT to become a strong global instrument

Ambassador Jan Kára, the head of the Czech delegation to the Third Conference of State Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (Geneva, 11-15 September 2017) in addressing the Conference praised the progress in putting the Treaty in operation, outlined some priority areas for the future, announced Czech contribution to the Voluntary Trust Fund and offered to share Czech experience in arms export controls.
The Arms Trade Treaty came into force on 24 December 2014 and became an important tool of regulating the international trade in conventional arms, preventing the misuse of arms and thus contributing to international peace and security. The Czech Republic has been serving from the beginning as a member of the Treaty´s Management Committee.
