The West Coast of the United States is one of the most dynamic markets in the fields of interior design, hospitality, and luxury retail. This made Los Angeles an ideal venue for a specialized economic diplomacy event held on 14 May 2026, where three Czech glassmaking companies, Halama Glass, Pačinek Glass, and Mio Glass, presented their work to key American partners. The goal was to strengthen the visibility of Czech glass as a premium product and to support new business opportunities in the region.
The presentation of Czech glass took place on 14 May 2026 at the residence of the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles. The event followed successful economic diplomacy projects held in New York and Norfolk in 2024 and reaffirmed the growing interest of American buyers in Czech glassmaking as a combination of tradition, innovation, and top‑tier design.
In the carefully curated setting of the residence, three Czech companies, Halama Glass, Pačinek Glass, and Mio Glass, showcased their collections, technological processes, and brand stories. The program included individual consultations, thematic networking, and a cultural and gastronomic component that highlighted the aesthetic value of Czech glassmaking.
The event attracted more than eighty industry guests from the fields of interior design, architecture, hospitality, luxury retail, and the film industry. Particular attention was drawn to the participation of Pačinek Glass, whose work appeared in the film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. This cinematic connection attracted representatives of Hollywood production teams and further increased interest in Czech glass as a unique decorative element suitable for film projects and design installations.
The main objective of the project was to strengthen the export potential of Czech glassmaking companies and to establish new business contacts. American participants praised the high quality, craftsmanship, and design originality of Czech products. Discussions focused on opportunities for custom-made pieces, collaboration in the hospitality sector, and the use of Czech glass in interior projects across the U.S. West Coast.
The Consulate General provided the event with a representative venue as well as professional support. Thanks to the consulate’s long-standing relationships with local partners, it was possible to reach relevant buyers and professionals from key institutions, including design studios, hotel chains, showrooms, and film production companies. For its organization of the event and its contribution to strengthening business cooperation between the Czech Republic and California, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles received an award from California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, underscoring the significance and impact of the project.
The presentation confirmed that the U.S. West Coast represents a promising market with strong demand for premium products in design and hospitality. Positive feedback from American partners and Czech exhibitors indicates potential for similar activities in the coming years and for further strengthening the Czech Republic’s reputation as a source of high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design.
