Czechia has attracted buyers from all over the world.

The Consulate General in Los Angeles, through its economic diplomacy support tool (PROPED), supported the participation of nine companies from the convention and tourism industry at one of the critical events of the convention industry in the USA - IMEX (Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings, and Events), which took place last week in Las Vegas. In cooperation with Czech Tourism and the Czech Convention Bureau, we enabled companies to present the Czech Republic as a great destination for incentive tourism through participation in a national stand, media, and PR, which are crucial to effective promotion. This year's highlight was the "Happy Hour," where we offered traditional Czech products, including beer and sweets.

Business Events are back! There is no doubt about it, and the 12th edition of IMEX America is proof of that. Nearly 15,000 people visited this year's fair. The previous record from 2019 was 14,000, and last year's attendance was around 12,800 people. The jump to 15,000 in just twelve months represents a 17% increase and a 7% increase over 2019's record-breaking year. The record number of buyers is more important than the sheer number of visitors. IMEX America 2023 attracted 5,000 buyers, including 4,200 guests, at least 1,000 of whom were corporate buyers. Some 3,400 exhibiting companies, spread across 360 booths, competed for their attention, coming to Las Vegas from 100 countries.

For Czech companies in the convention tourism sector, this is one of the critical events for the convention industry on the American continent. The fair opens up a space for communication with world leaders, buyers, and suppliers worldwide.   The networking event "Happy Hour" we organized on the sidelines of the companies' participation in the fair further strengthened the country's awareness. Our companies have already stood up to the intense competition. They participated in countless B2B meetings and established exciting contacts with new and existing clients to bring them future business opportunities.
