Czech Minister of Finance Andrej Babiš Visited California

As a part of the official visit to the United States of America, Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Andrej Babiš did not miss out to meet technology giants in California and Czech entrepreneurs in the world’s mecca of innovations and technologies Silicon Valley. The purpose was not only to meet potential investors in the Czech Republic, but also the Czech companies who would like to expand to the USA.
The visit started off in the “Capital of Silicon Valley” San Jose. Minister Babiš had a unique opportunity to meet up with the Google representatives in its PartnerPlex, accompanied by the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles, Michal Sedláček, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic Richard Pivnička, Director of the West Coast Operations at CzechInvest Roman Horáček and the Head of Economic Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington D.C. Tomáš Hart. Both parties discussed the economic activities of the third world’s most valuable brand in the Czech Republic and Europe and its innovation policy.
Directly at the headquarters in Palo Alto, Minister Babiš met with the American innovative car manufacturer Tesla Motors’ representatives and with an American software company NetSuite which worldwide activity includes also the Czech Republic, with one of its biggest offices in Brno.
At the end of the day, Minister Babiš met with both, successful as well as potential Czech investors and startups. The visit, including discussion about the entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley, concluded not only the visit of the West Coast, but also the whole US tour of the Minister.
