
Czech Foreign Minister in the UK

On 19 and 20 March 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček, visited the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At the beginning, the Head of Czech diplomacy inaugurated the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Manchester. On the second day, he spoke with British Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt MP, in London.
On Tuesday 19 March, Minister Tomáš Petříček opened the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Manchester, met Czech émigrés and also the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. They discussed the possibilities of regional co-operation.

On Wednesday 20 March, the Czech Foreign Minister met with his British counterpart, Jeremy Hunt MP. The main topics of their discussion were the protection of the interests of Czech citizens after brexit, further cooperation between the two countries and, cyber security and cooperation within NATO. Minister Petříček also visited the Royal Institute of International Relations - Chatham House - to give a lecture on future security cooperation between the EU and Great Britain after brexit.
