Charity event 'Wevaving International Fashion'

On Saturday 11 May, representatives of the Embassy took part in diplomatic multicultural fundraising charity event called "Weaving International Fashion" organised by Young Diplomats in London in association with the Kuwaiti Embassy at Kensington Town Hall.

The main aim of the event, which was held under the patronageof the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, Mrs Preety Hudd, was to showcase national costumes, fashion, cuisine, craftsmanship and art from around the world. A total of 17 Embassies took part in the event, including for example Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Vietnam and Trinidad and Tobago.

Representatives of the Embassy, under the supervision of Ambassador Marie Chatardová, presented Moravian costumes from Břeclav and Kyjov during the folklore fashion show, and the cultural section featured the painting ‘Family Photography‘ by Czech painter Zuzana Šípová. Proceeds from the event went to two charities, The Felix Project, which distributes surplus food from shops and restaurants to food banks, and Kids for Kids, which provides a lasting solution to child poverty in Darfur, Sudan.
