On the occasion of the sad anniversary of the three years since the start of the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine, we organized an event and film screening in cooperation with the Polish and Ukrainian embassies in London. The Polish film People/People/Ludzie is depicting the terror of the Russian invasion to Ukraine through the stories of individual people. The film was introduced by Deputy Ambassadors of all three embassies Michal Strouhal, Jerzy Boczkowski and Eduard Pesco. For three years now, Ukraine has been bravely standing up to evil, defending itself against Russian aggression and fighting for not just its freedom but also ours.
From the very beginning, Czechia and Poland have been among its staunchest supporters and this event aimed to express our unwavering support for Ukraine and remind us that there is no doubt who is the aggressor and who is the victim in this war.
After the screening, the audience also had the opportunity to talk to Ukrainian actors Maria Shtofa and Oleksandr Begma, the main protagonists of the film, who are now preparing a theatre performance about the war in Ukraine in London.
