The concert itself was preceded by the author’s talk „Prague, Panoramas and Bells: Around and About My 2nd Symphony“, which was hosted at the Czech Embassy. The event was opened by Deputy Ambassador Mr. Michal Strouhal, the author then during his hour-long presentation explained all the elements that influenced his work and are now reflected in the symphony. Surprisingly, they range from medieval Czech religious hymns to videos of popular contemporary Prague’s vloggers.  

The premiere of the symphony was part of the BBC Proms cycle and took place at the Royal Albert Hall. The piece was performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Semyon Bychkov, who currently serves as the chief conductor and music director of Czech Philharmonic. Throughout the evening, the Orchestra also played the „Concerto for Two Pianos“ by  the exiled Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů, and  Rachmaninov’s „Symphonic Dances.“
