Statement of the MFA on the Presidential Elections in Tunisia

The Czech Republic commends the democratic and transparent atmosphere of the first round of the Presidential Elections in Tunisia on November 23, which was held under peaceful conditions, alike the Parliamentary Elections in October. We welcome that the Tunisian citizens have freely and democratically chosen their representatives and that the elections were not hindered by any serious incident. We believe that the electoral process will be successfully completed upon the second round of Presidential Elections at the end of the year.
