The winners of the LIDICE art competition awarded at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Jakarta

On May 4, 2023, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Jakarta organized an award ceremony for the winners of the LIDICE art competition. Talented artists who accepted the artists' invitation to the ceremony were awarded not only diplomas, but also small gifts related to the Czech Republic.

The international children's art exhibition LIDICE was founded in 1967 to honor the memory of child victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by the German Nazis and all other children who died in wars. Although it initially had the character of a national competition, it became international from 1973 and gained prestige literally all over the world.

Every year the exhibition has a unique theme to which the works of art are dedicated. Last year's competition was devoted to the theme "MUSEUM". In 2022, a total of 14,527 authors from 77 countries took part in the competition. The expert jury awarded a total of 1,552 works and awarded 203 medals.

Five students from Indonesia were awarded for their artwork this year, namely M. Zarmadio Ghodafeil Herdiansyah Dafi, Sabrina Amalia Farah, Syaif Ali Agung Prayoga Yoga, Rei Rosyaila Roxanne Rosyadi Roxanne and Saybia Valeska.

We congratulate the young artists and look forward to this year´s round of the competition with the theme "DANCE"!

More information about the competition can be found on the website www.mdvv-lidice.cz/en.
