The innovative Czech company INVEA-TECH and its FlowMon – Success Story in the Haga Hospital
(This article expired 30.07.2017 / 11:37.)
The INVEA-TECH was founded in 2007 and is among the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Europe and among the three fastest growing Czech IT companies. The Haga Hospital (HagaZiekenhuis) with its 3,600 employees is one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands. INVEA-TECH supplied here its solution based on the FlowMon product which improves security, visibility and utilization of the Haga Hospital networks.
The initial contact with representatives of the INVEA-TECH regarding the Dutch market was in February 2013, when the Mr. Š. Petruš, CzechTrade, provided to them some basic information and offered its services. Subsequently, there were further meetings during the Conference of Economic Counsellors and Directors of the CzechTrade in June 2013 and 2014 (already with new director of CzechTrade, Mr. M. Segers). The participation at the Infosecurity Utrecht trade fair was one of the results of our recommendations.
After that, in August 2014, Mr. R. Holý met with Mr. T. Šárocký, Area Manager Western Europe, in The Hague. They discussed possible strategies for the Netherlands and the requirements of INVEA-TECH - particularly the need to find a local representative and the question of the possible establishment of a branch. R. Holý provided him the necessary contacts; he mediated the consultation with the director of the Dutch branch of Unicorn Systems, Mr. M. Hašek, and B. Vanatova, DKVA law firm, which designed for the INVEA-TECH the optimal employment contract for the selected candidate. This eventually became Mr. Frank Dupker, now Country Manager for the Benelux, with whom the Embassy is in regular contact.
The network in the Haga Hospital is MPLS VPN based on Cisco equipment. In total there are over 20 functional VPNs in one physical network, including the office environment, the environment for PACS radiology, wireless LAN, VoIP and the building management system.
Customer review
Walter Telting, ICT Architect of the Haga Hospital, states about the solution and implementation:
"Our challenge was not only to identify and stop unwanted traffic, but also to gain insight of the actual network usage. It is very important for us to know what bandwidth is required by an application when you encounter certain peaks. Thanks to FlowMon solution we have a clear overview and we can act immediately. For example, we prioritize a specific network traffic, thereby we give a priority to the business critical network traffic from the hospital. We first made a Proof of Concept and we are pleased with the choice of this solution.”
