
Exhibition The worldview of Comenius in Naarden

On 23 June, 2016, Ambassador Jana Reinišová attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition of works by contemporary artists inspired by the famous book by Jan Amos Comenius "Orbis Pictus" at the Comenius Museum in Naarden.
The exhibition is based on Comenius' Orbis Sensualium Pictus published in 1658, includes 26 works by Dutch artists inspired by this book. It consists of three parts: A view of the world by Comenius (prepared by Naarden Museum), The history and diffusion of the book (prepared by Comenius Museum in Uherský Brod) and The idea of the artist (prepared by curator Elganan Jelsma and Naarden Museum). The opening of the exhibition was attended by representatives of Comenius Museum in Uherský Brod (its Director M. Vaškových), representatives of the municipality Gooise Meren (City Councillor for Culture Ms. Miriam van Meerten-Kok) and other invited guests and compatriots from Naarden and the wider environment. The exhibition is on display at the Naarden Comenius Museum until 22 January 2017.
