The exhibition Czech Press Photo on display at the library in Voorburg

A traveling exhibition on the 20th anniversary of photographic journalism competition, prepared by the Czech Press Photo in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for the Czech Centres and embassies abroad, is on display until 31 March 2016 in the library of the City Hall of Voorburg. The exhibition started on Thursday, March 3, 2016, with the official opening by H.E. Ms Jana Reinišová, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in the Netherlands, and Mr. Frank Rozenberg, deputy mayor of Voorburg.
The exhibition presents 21 years of Czech Press Photo competition. It consists of contest winning photos and selected photographs from the Czech Press Photo. This representative selection of journalistic photographs from different photographers is mapping the environment and the development of journalistic photography which creates an image of the Czech Republic within its borders and beyond.
The Czech Press Photo competition has been held annually since 1995. Its goal is to bring independent visual testimony about life as seen at home and in the world by professional journalists living in the Czech or Slovak Republic. Its goal is also to foster interest in visual journalism as a means of interpersonal understanding and comprehension.
