Das Magazin Festival will take place 16 May in Amsterdam as a part of European Literature Night, with the contribution of the Czech Centre Rotterdam and EUNIC Netherlands. The Czech writer Marek Šindelka will be one of the festival guests. Šindelka will present his work during the program Don Quichot 3D Totaalervaring, which is the highlight of the festival every year. Šindelka will discuss with the readers his article in the festival publication during the couple of brief readings sessions. The publication is completely devoted to madness, crazy heroes and similar quixotic themes this year.
Marek Šindelka (1984) is considered as one of the most talented young Czech writers. For his debut Strychnin a jiné básně (Strychnine and Other Poems) of 2008 Šindelka was awarded the Jiří Orten prize, the most important literary prize for young Czech authors. For his short story collection Zůstaňte s námi (Stay with Us) Šindelka won the Magnesia Litera award for prose in 2012. In 2014 Šindelka published a book Mapa Anny (Map of Anna).
