The bomber was shut down on 11 April 1942 near the village of Middenmeer.

During the ceremony both ambassadors laid flowers at the tombstones of the fallen soldiers and wreaths at the central war memorial. The ceremony was also attended by the representatives of the municipality including the mayor of Bergen op Zoom Mr. Frank Petter who also laid a wreath at the central memorial of the cemetery on behalf of the municipality of Bergen op Zoom. The tradition of Czech and Slovak ambassadors in the Netherlands so continues every year to visit together one of the last resting places in the Netherlands of the Czechoslovak airmen who fought in the ranks of the Allies against Nazi Germany.

At the British military cemetery the following Czechoslovak soldiers are buried: Hrdina Josef, Kalenský Josef, Kodeš Karel, Peprníček Jan, Politzer Jozef and Rychnovský Karel.
