Bilateral Agreements

Overview of Czech-Dutch bilateral agreements.

The following international agreements form the backbone of the bilateral treaty system:

1. Convention de Commerce entre le Royaume des Pays-Bas et la République Tchécoslovaque, avec Protocole. (La Haye, 20 janvier 1923)

2. Treaty on judicial procedure, arbitration and conciliation between Czechoslovakia and the Netherlands (Geneva, September 14, 1929)

3. Convention on extradition of criminals and legal assistance in penal matters between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Prague, December 4, 1931)

4. Agreement on extension of validity (territorial scope) of Convention on extradition of criminals and legal assistance in penal matters to Netherlands territories situated outside of Europe (Exchange of notes - Prague, May 22, 1934) Note: This agreement is still relevant only as concerns extradition and only in respect of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.

5. Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Netherlands concerning Netherlands interests affected in Czechoslovakia by nationalisation, confiscation and national administration (Prague, November 1949)

6. Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Republic and the Government of the Netherlands concerning Czechoslovak interests affected in the Netherlands concerning Czechoslovak interests affected in the Netherlands by the Netherlands Law No. II. 251 of 18 th July 1947 (Prague, November 29, 1952)

7. Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands relation to the settlement of financial matters (The Hague, June 11, 1964)

9. Veterinary Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Protocol concerning execution of article two (Prague, July 4, 1972)

10. Cultural Agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Prague, August 3, 1972)

11. Convention between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital (Prague, March 4, 1974)

12. Agreement on economic, industrial and technical cooperation between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (The Hague, November 19, 1975)

13. Agreement on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Prague, April 29, 1991)

14. Agreement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on inland navigation (Prague, October 30, 1991)

15. Agreement (a long-lease contract) between the Czechoslovak Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands relation to the tomb of Comenius at the Military Camp in Naarden (The Hague, March 20, 1933)

16. Supplement to the long-lease contract relation to the tomb of Comenius (The Hague, June 26, 1935)

17. Agreement between the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Ministry of Agricultural and Fisheries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on cooperation in the field of scientific agricultural research (Prague, August 7, 1979)

18. Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of environment between the Federal committee for Environment of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and of the Ministry of Housing. Physical Planning and Environment of the Netherlands (Dobris, June 22, 1991)

19. Agreement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Governments of Benelux on abolition of visa requirement (Prague, December 13, 1990)

20. Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on aviation services between and beyond their territories. (Prague, 11 August 1993)

21. Agreement between the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on mutual cooperation. (Prague, 11 September 1995)

22. Protocol supplementing the Convention between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital. (Prague, 26 June 1996)

23. Agreement on employment of dependants of diplomats and other employees of embassies, consulates general and permanent missions concluded by exchange of notes. (Prague, 3 July 1996)

24. Programme for the implementation of the Cultural agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the years 1996 - 1998 (Den Haag, 4 October 1996) There is a mutual understanding that projects outlined in this programme are being carried out after 1998.

25. Agreement on priviliges and immunities of liaison officers of the Czech Republic at Europol (The Hague, 22 December 2003)
Note: Following the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU and consequently to Convention on Europol, the above mentioned agreement has been updated by an exchange of interpretative notes on 21 September, 2004.

26. Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic on data exchange and cross-border cooperation in combating of fraud in transnational posting of workers and illegal labour (Prague, 28 November 2007)
