The silent march from the Amsterdam City Hall and the laying of wreaths was, like last year, attended by a large number of distinguished guests, including the Presidents of both chambers of the Dutch Parliament, the Dutch Minister of Health, the Mayor of Amsterdam and about 25 ambassadors of European and non-European countries. The ceremony took place in remembrance of the liberation of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp on January 27, 1945, 71 years ago.
