On September 20^th, 2023, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Erbil (CG Erbil) festive handed over the use of school equipment for six new classrooms. The teaching staff was not forgotten either, to whom we handed over new multifunctional printers, laptops, and office furniture for the staffrooms as part of the SSP. We are glad that we were able to build on last year's cooperation and prepare everything together with our partner organization for the start of the new school year.

The non-profit organization Rwanga Foundation was the SSP partner for 2023. This year's project was not as organizationally difficult as the previous year, but that did not detract from its importance. The new classrooms still needed to be equipped and the teaching staff also deserved some of that material attention. All this was the essence of the SSP for 2023 and the idea was implemented from the begging to the end. After all, it was also mentioned several times in the many thank speeches that were given on September 20^th. 

And what has indeed changed thanks to the SSP? There are currently 1500 students attending the school compared to 1200 last year. This has created four paid jobs - teacher. The number of students in each class has reduced and the quality of teaching has increased. Finally, and perhaps we should have started with this, teachers have better facilities in their staffrooms and more technological equipment for preparing lessons. Seemingly small things, help small in volume but big in importance. You could see in the atmosphere of the school how much this SSP has benefited a high school in the middle of the Middle East. The Czech Republic can be justly proud of itself.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Ismael Mohammed, Mayor of Bardarash district, Mr. Antar Ferhad, Administrator of Rovia sub-district, Mr. Mahdi Khalil, Director of Education, Mr. Saud Aziz, Director of School Buildings (Deputy DG Education, Duhok), Mr. Saidi Ahmed Abdulaziz, Director of Bardarash Police, and Mr. Abdulsalam Madani, Rwanga Foundation. Unfortunately, it is still the case that this is a little bit of a forgotten district in the KRI.
