Exhibition CZECH HEROINES - Prominent Czech Women Past and Present

This year, as part of public diplomacy, CZ CG Erbil organised an exhibition dedicated to prominent Czech women - CZECH HEROINES - Prominent Czech Women Past and Present.

Approximately one hundred guests gathered in the Škoda Auto showroom in Duhok. SHIREEN company was our strategic partner and we tried to create a synergy of public and economic diplomacy. We would like to thank the Department for Public Diplomacy Activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Centres and the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia, all of them for the creation of this exhibition.

Unfortunately, on the same day as the exhibition, the local government declared a day off and a certain "Erbil centrism" was also manifested, so most guests were from the Duhok Governorate. The same was true of the media representatives, where the local media was predominant.

Our intention was to present prominent Czech women who have shaped the past and present of the Czech Republic and to highlight the importance of the role of women in politics, art, science, sports, and education. At the same time, we tried to find some historical and contemporary connection between women in the Czech Republic and the KRI and to be an inspiration for Kurdish women in society today.

Despite the predominantly male presence, the exhibition was also attended by several representatives of associations and NGOs dealing with the status of women, women's rights, and equality in the Middle East or the KRI. The exhibition was followed by a small reception, during which various discussions took place.

CZ CG Erbil would like to thank all those who took the time to come and see this small but significant exhibition CZECH HEROINES - Prominent Czech Women Past and Present.
