The Energy Show 2014, organised by SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland), was held in Dublin from 12th to 13th March 2014 and was attended by representatives from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Czech Embassy in Ireland.
Representatives of the Czech Republic (CzechTrade and CzechInvest, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Dublin) exhibited along with 10 other countries (Argentina, China, Denmark, France, Israel, Canada, Poland, Portugal, Romania, U.K.) at stands offered in the International Markets Area of the show. The Czech stand featured a large screen presentation on the latest trends in the Czech energy sector, along with expert-led talks by representatives of CzechTrade and CzechInvest. Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ireland, Hana Mottlova, personally took part in meetings with representatives of selected companies and enthusiastically supported interest expressed by Irish and multinational firms in working with Czech companies.
During the course of the show contacts were established with a wide range of firms, not only through visits to the Czech stand, but also as a result of networking with individual exhibitors. In terms of Czech exports, local and multinational firms such as Harold Engineering, Dalkia and Fantasy Lights Group expressed an interest in specific Czech products across a range of sectors, in particular heating (heat exchangers, ventilation, pressure stations), biomass (biomass boiler manufacturers), solar energy and designer lighting. The exhibition also revealed the potential for attracting new and expanding current investments in the Czech Republic by companies such as Aramark, Patina or Warmflow in the fields of lighting, water heater and boiler production and other sustainable technologies.
The results of the negotiations which took place have been very encouraging and could generate several new orders for Czech companies as well as promoting investment activities in the Czech Republic. The Energy Show 2014 in Dublin confirmed the significant potential of the Czech energy sector in the Irish market, as well as the U.K. and many other countries.
