Presentations of the main tourist destinations in the Czech Republic were made in the presence of more than 100 representatives from the Irish travel industry and journalists at a dinner in Dublin’s prestigious Shelbourne Hotel on Tuesday 24 September.
The event entitled, Czech Republic: Land of Stories was organised by CzechTourism’s London branch under the direction of Katarina Hobbs, together with Irish company Travel Media. Deputy Ambassador Petr Kubera from the Czech Embassy in Ireland delivered the opening speech.
During the evening there were presentations by representatives from CzechTourism, the Prague Information Service, Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and the Barcelo Hotel. The presentations were accompanied by a rich tasting menu of classic Czech cuisine in the main hall of the hotel and musical accompaniment from a jazz band led by Czech violinist Klara Janu.
Feedback from the more than 100 attendees was very positive with Irish partners highly evaluating the engaging presentations and information that was shared. Following the event there was an immediate response in the Irish media focusing on Czech tourism (www.ittn.ie). Not only were a number of new business contacts established during the evening, but also the Czech Republic was shown from many different angles that the professional public were unaware of.
