Czech Puppet Theatre performed on Bornholm

The Czech puppet theatre “Cirkus Žebřík” performed at this year’s Bornholm Puppet Festival on 3–11 September 2011. The participation of the theatre was financially supported by the Czech Embassy in Copenhagen.
Cirkus Žebřík in cooperation with theatre Krab showed a puppet performance for children called Circus of Crocodile Krokodilini. The show included numerous imaginative creatures and was accompanied by live music on accordion, saxophone, banjo and guitar.
Performance at the outdoor stage in Hasle
The theatre had four performances; at the outdoor stages in Svaneke and Hasle, at Bornholm Medieval Center in Østerlars and at the local library in Rønne. The main representative of the theatre, Miloš Samek, described Bornholm Puppet Festival as one of the most pleasant puppet festivals the theatre ever participated in. The performances had a high attendance and the audience reacted very emotionally. The actors also appreciated the excellent organizing of the festival that created space for meeting the theatres, sharing of experiences, contacts and gaining new inspiration.
