Czech Opera in Aarhus

On Thursday 20 August 2015 Den Jyske Opera in Aarhus introduced a premiere of the opera Jenůfa by Czech composer Leoš Janáček. The performance staged in co-production with Scottish Opera was held in Musikhuset in Aarhus.

Directed by Annilese Miskimmon, with the Irish soprano Sinéad Mulhern in the title role, Slovak opera singer Peter Berger in the role of Laco, and Czech conductor Jaroslav Kyzlink, the opera was staged in Czech with Danish subtitles.
Performance has met with great success and received a long lasting standing ovation from an audience.
