Film screening of “Seduction”

For the screening in Husets Biograf in October, we chose the film ‘Seduction’, a silent erotic film from 1929 directed by Gustav Machatý. This is the first movie ever, which focuses on eroticism and human sexual instinct in the history of Czech cinematography. After ‘Seduction’, Machatý presented another scandalous film, Ecstasy, which stunned the world.
The excellent director Machatý became a pioneer of erotic films in cinematography of his time. His work was often perceived as outrageous. Although it is a silent film, it offers a number of technically well-managed scenes and sequences. ‘Seduction’ is a romantic, psychological and at the same time, poetic film that has been technically adapted to enable its screening today.
