Few words about Miroslav Barták

Miroslav Barták (1938) originally studied at the Naval Academy in Varna (Bulgaria) and later he worked as a sailor on ocean ships. At the age of 30 he decided to leave this occupation forever and onward devote his life to drawing. Today Miroslav Barták is well-known mainly for his humoristic drawings without words, which gloss happenings in society. The cartoonist is also interested in graphics and illustrations.
Since 1970 the free-lance humorist arranged over 70 exhibitions both at home and around Europe, he authored several books of cartoon humor, he has illustrated several books and even made animated movies. Barták has participated in many volumes and journals of cartoons both in Europe and the USA. Since the 1970’s he has been a core contributor to the Swiss satirical magazine Nebelspalter, has worked for Das Magazin in Zürich and now he cooperates with the magazine Weltwoche. His works are part of the collections in many European museums of caricature. Miroslav Barták lives near Prague with his wife, a dog and cats. He believes that once you start taking things seriously, your brain cells will begin to die.
