As of January 1st 2011, therefore, visa-applications are only being processed in the Consular Departments of a few selected Czech Embassies within the Schengen-area (Athens, Berlin, Bratislava, Brussels, Madrid, Stockholm, Warsaw, Vienna). Their territorial competence is the following:

• Embassy of the Czech Republic Athens (Greece)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Berlin (Germany, Denmark)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Bratislava (Slovakia, Hungary)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Brussels (France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Belgium)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Madrid (Spain, Portugal)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Stockholm (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Iceland)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Warsaw (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia)
• Embassy of the Czech Republic Vienna (Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Malta, Slovenia)

The Visa Departments of the other Embassies and Consulates General, were closed consequently to this decision as per 31.12. 2010. The Embassy in Bern too no longer has at its disposal whether the needed machinery, nor the visa-stickers needed for the procedure.
