Ethio–Czech Business Forum Held in Addis Ababa: New Partnerships and B2B Matchmaking

Addis Ababa, 22 April 2026 – The Ethio–Czech Business Forum took place at Hilton Addis Ababa, bringing together Czech and Ethiopian institutions and companies to deepen practical cooperation and open new commercial opportunities. The forum was held alongside the broader EU–Ethiopia Business Forum 2026 and built on contacts established during the Czech business presence and meetings in Addis Ababa over the week.
Program focused on concrete business connections
The afternoon program combined opening remarks, a short block of practical presentations on services and support for companies, company pitches, and structured B2B networking / matchmaking, followed by informal networking over dinner. Among the speakers and institutional partners featured in the program were the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), the Addis Ababa Chamber, EuroCham Ethiopia, and other stakeholders supporting international business cooperation.
Strong Czech business participation across priority sectors
The Czech side was represented by a broad business delegation and institutions, with Czech companies presenting solutions and exploring partnerships across multiple sectors including sustainability/energy and environment, healthcare, aviation solutions, smart mobility, digital infrastructure, agriculture, and geoscience. Participating 20 representatives of Czech companies with and institutions included: ENVIROS; MIKROELEKTRONIKA; TRANSCON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS; MODELÁRNA LIAZ; SEDA AFRICA GROUP; ERA (OMNIPOL Group); LINET; ALTRON MODULAR; OMNIPOL; BATTSWAP; ZETOR TRACTORS; MDP GEO; People in Need; Czech Geological Survey, CzechTrade, Ministry of Transport.
Shared ambition to expand trade and investment
Ethiopian partners highlighted the forum as a platform expected to strengthen bilateral business relations and contribute to deeper trade and investment ties. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa will continue supporting Czech and Ethiopian companies through partner search, B2B facilitation, and follow-up engagement with chambers and institutions to convert contacts into tangible cooperation.
