The Trade Counsellor of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa, Roman Plevák, held a working meeting with the Secretary General, Zekarias Assefa, of the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) to explore opportunities to further strengthen Czech–Ethiopian economic cooperation.
The discussion focused on expanding contacts between Czech and Ethiopian companies, deepening institutional cooperation between the Embassy and AACCSA, supporting mutual trade and investment, and identifying practical platforms for business engagement. Both sides exchanged views on ways to facilitate business contacts, improve information sharing, and deliver joint promotional activities. Particular attention was given to continued cooperation on business matchmaking and sector‑focused events.
In this context, the partners recalled the most recent Ethio‑Czech Business Forum, held in December 2024 in Addis Ababa, which provided an important platform for direct dialogue between Czech and Ethiopian companies and institutions. Todays meeting also highlighted the long‑term partnership between Czech institutions and AACCSA within the framework of Aid for Trade, which supports strengthening trade capacities and improving the business environment in partner countries. This cooperation builds on earlier institutional ties, including a Memorandum of Understanding signed between AACCSA and the Czech Chamber of Commerce to facilitate exchange of economic information and support business missions and related activities.
Both sides are jointly developing follow‑up activities to expand direct B2B links between Czech and Ethiopian firms.
