On December 8, 2025, H.E. Miroslav Kosek met Minister Addisu Arega Kitessa, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector. The talks focused on areas such as irrigation, mechanization, crop processing, investment, capacity building, and precise agriculture.
The government of Ethiopia is advancing ambitious reforms to modernize its agricultural sector. Key initiatives include the Digital Agriculture Roadmap (2025–2032) to integrate technology across the value chain, the expansion of mechanization programs to boost productivity, and strategies to raise agricultural exports. These efforts aim to make farming more efficient, climate-resilient, and export-oriented, while reducing post-harvest losses and improving market access.
The Czech Republic has expressed its readiness to support these initiatives by sharing expertise in precision farming, mechanization, and sustainable technologies, and by fostering partnerships between Ethiopian stakeholders and Czech companies specializing in agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, and digital solutions. Both sides agreed to continue discussions at the expert level, all in line with their previously signed Memorandum of Understanding.
