Appeal process in case of Schengen visa refusal
Information on how to appeal against the Embassy's decision to refuse your Schengen visa application.
A request for a reconsideration of the reasons for refusal of a Schengen visa application shall be submitted in writing to the embassy that issued the decision. The request must include the following information about the applicant:
- name and surname
- date and place of birth
- passport number
- citizenship
It must also state what the applicant considers to be an irregularity or error in the decision or in the procedure which preceded it.
The request for a reconsideration of the reasons for refusal of the Schengen visa application must be submitted within 15 days of receipt of the notification of reasons for refusal form.
Your application will first be assessed directly by the embassy. If the embassy insists on its initial decision, it will send it to the Visa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, which will make a decision within 60 calendar days.
The administrative fee for submitting a request for a reconsideration of the reasons for refusal of a Schengen visa application is EUR 80.
