Broken Wings presents the stories of a few American fighter pilots and bomber crews who were shot down mainly in the Czech region of Northwestern Bohemia during the final year of World War II. The author, Martin Veselý, Ph.D., and Hollis Barnhart, the daughter of one of the flyers, will discuss the exhibition at 10:30 am and 2 pm on May 9. For additional information, please click here.
In the exhibition WWII – War and Peace, veteran James Duncan documents his experiences in the horrors of war and peace thereafter via over 500 photographs, using cameras and film he found along the way. Yet, to him, the most important photographs are the images of the men, women and children of the towns, villages and cities he visited. His photos of the City of Pilsen, now in the Czech Republic, the countryside, and children reveal the relief of war being over. An Embassy representative will talk about the exhibition on May 9, at 1:00 and 3:30 pm. For additional information, please click here.
