On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Ambassador Miloslav Stašek presented the Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy Medal to the founding members of the American Friends of the Czech Republic.
On September 20, 2025, a gala dinner was held at the prestigious Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C., to mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of American Friends of the Czech Republic (AFoCR). During the evening, the founding members of AFoCR – Milton Cerny, Robert Doubek, and Phillip Kasik – were awarded the Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy Medal, which was presented to them on behalf of the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs by the Czech Ambassador to Washington, Miloslav Stašek.
This medal is the highest non-presidential award given by the Czech government for outstanding contributions to diplomacy.
In 1998, AFoCR also received the prestigious Gratias Agit Award for its fundamental support during the Czech Republic's accession to NATO.
