
Easter Egg Hunt & Workshops
The Embassy of the Czech Republic invites you to celebrate the coming of Easter through Czech and American traditions on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Register your little ones for an Easter egg decorating workshop and an egg hunt. Reservations are required!
Sign up your elder ones (ages 6–12) for a special egg decoration workshop (11 am–12 pm OR 12:30 pm–1:30 pm). The workshop will utilize folk artisan skills on various materials under the direction of Dagmar Hermi Benešová and Anna Koplíková, folk artists from the Moravian Region of Czechia. Children under 6 years old may decorate eggs at a come and go pace (11 am – 1:30 pm). The Easter egg hunt for ages 1-10 only will be held in the Embassy’s spacious garden at 12 pm.
To round out the transatlantic Easter traditions, live bunnies from the non-profit organization, Friends of Rabbits, will be on hand for cuddles and selfies.

About the Folk Artists
Dagmar Hermi Benešová is the founder of Folk ART Academy in Břeclav, Czech Republic. She is passionate about Czech traditional folk art, intricate Moravian ornamental patterns and designs, the UNESCO recognized blueprint dyeing technique, music, costumes, folklore, and traditions. She strives to pass them on with love to the next generations through courses, exhibits, and workshops. In the past, she led Easter workshops at the Czech Embassy with her mentor and highly celebrated folk artist, Mařenka Švirgová.
Anna Koplíková, hailing from the village of Moravská Nová Ves in the Czech Republic, has a passion for folk art and handcrafts. Over the last decade, she has focused on decorative and ornamental painting of patterns, mainly floral and specifically on the traditional ornaments of Podluží, on ceramics, glass, textiles and even Christmas decorations. She also paints ribbons and bows for Czech folk costumes. She graduated from Brno University of Technology with a focus on construction. Please follow her work on Instagram at Annafolk.cz.
