
The Ambassador met with the Minister of Health

On 27 November 2017, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia Mr. Jiří Brodský was accepted by Minister of Health Mrs. Sarangerel Davaajantsan to hold bilateral meeting.
Czechia has been cooperating with Mongolia in the field of health care for several decades and in 1971 Czech companies built the First Central Hospital in Ulaanbaatar. The Ambassador assured that healthcare is the one of the priority areas of business opportunities within the framework of economic diplomacy, and emphasized that Czech companies are interested in presenting and offering their products in Mongolia, in particular, in the field of mobile healthcare and healthcare supplies. Moreover, it was noted that potential exists also in cooperation between universities of two countries and sharing Czech experience of the health insurance system.
The Ambassador also handed over to the Minister a list of development cooperation projects Czechia has implemented in the past in Mongolia. He highlighted the project of the Czech Development Agency, People in Need and Caritas CZ NGOs, which focused on provision of health care in 6 provinces of Western and Southern Mongolia.
Within its frame, six off-road vehicles equipped with modern diagnostic devices were handed over to the regional hospitals. For mobile operators, Czech health experts trained 125 employees of regional hospitals. They also prepared an outreach plan, a monitoring plan, and a manual for operating the devices in cooperation with local hospitals. Mobile clinics have provided health care to more than 31,000 people from remote rural areas in 2011-2013.
