Czech representation at the EU–Canada Joint Ministerial Committee meeting on November 11, 2025

Relations between the European Union and Canada have been upgraded through the Strategic Partnership Agreement, ratified by the Czech Republic in August 2017.

On November 11, 2025, Consul General Radek Machů attended the EU–Canada Joint Ministerial Committee meeting held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

Chaired by EU High Representative & European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas and Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand, the meeting focused on tools for strengthening relations between the European Union and Canada under the Strategic Partnership Agreement.

The aim is to increase bilateral cooperation in fields such as foreign policy, sustainable development, research and innovation, and education and culture. The partners search for common answers to the problems of today’s world including security, the fight against terrorism, organized crime and cybercrime.
