The Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv would like to invite you to a cultural event on the occasion of Yom HaShoah, which will take place on May 3, 2024 at the Embassy.
The program will begin at 13:00 with a lecture by Mr. Bruce Mainzer on "Fleeing the Nazis: A Journey of Two Sisters and the Hero Who Outwitted the Gestapo". The lecture describes the escape of his mother and aunt from Nazi-occupied Prague in 1939, thanks to Harry Roth's strategy that allowed thousands of Jews to escape.
At 15:00, the book launch of Hana Sternlicht's book, "The Girl from Terezín" will be presented. The book follows the story of 12-year-old Hana, who was deported to the Terezin ghetto and later to concentration camps in Eastern Europe. The story is based on true events and offers a glimpse of the extreme conditions she survived.
This event offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the historical events associated with the Holocaust. We look forward to your participation and contribution to the dialogue on the importance of historical memory and education in this field. The number of places is limited, please reserve your place by sending an email to michal.dvorak2@mzv.gov.cz
