Viktor Fainberg has died at the age of 91

On 5th January , the Ambassador Martin Stropnický gave an eulogy at the funeral of the dissident and holder of the Gratias Agit Award Viktor Fainberg.

Viktor Isaakovich Fainberg was an Ukrainian philologist, prominent figure of the dissident movement in the Soviet Union and the director of the Campaign against Psychiatric Abuse.
In his speech Ambassador Stropnicky reminded Fainberg´s participation in the demonstration on Red Square in August 1968 against the occupation of Czechoslovakia and called him one of the most faithful friends of the Czech Republic.
He expressed as well his deep respect for his brave act which is and always will be deeply appreciated by everyone in the Czech Republic.
We will not forget Mr. Fainberg. Honor to his family!
