Reception on the occasion of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State

On October 16 2025, on the occasion of the celebration of the Czech Republic national holiday and the visit of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Radek Rubeš, reception was held at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.
The main guest of the evening was Gila Gamliel, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology who in her speech appreciated the long-term partnership between Israel and the Czech Republic.
At the beginning of the social event, participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023. This was followed by a video greeting from Israeli President Isaac Herzog who in his message emphasized the close ties between the two countries. Then, Minister Gamliel, State Secretary of the MFA Radek Rubeš and Ambassador Veronika Kuchyňová Šmigolová took the stage. The ambassador appreciated the long-term partnership and thanked the partners for their support.
As part of the evening, representatives of the Jerusalem Centre for Applied Policy presented Ambassador Veronika Kuchyňová Šmigolová with a historic document, a letter from the Chief Rabbi of Israel to President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk from 1935, congratulating him on his 85th birthday. This historic gift will subsequently be handed over to the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.
The cultural segment of the evening featured a performance by Czech-Israeli artist and renowned harmonica player Pavel Koren, who performed traditional Czech and Israeli songs.
As a part of strengthening the dialogue between the North Atlantic Alliance and Israel an exhibition of the NATO Contact Embassy was presented at the reception.
