Hana Sternlichtová received Gratias Agit Award

Ambassador Veronika Kuchňová Šmigolová presented Ms. Hana Sternlicht with Gratias Agit Award, awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech republic, Jan Lipavský, for promoting the good name of the Czech Republic abroad.
 

The award was originally meant to be presented at a ceremony in Prague, but due to the war with Iran it was moved to the Embassy in Tel Aviv, where Ms. Sternlicht was joined by her family and friends.

Hana Sternlicht grew up in Holice, in what was then Czechoslovakia. She is a Holocaust survivor who went through Terezin, Auschwitz, and Mauthausen, and later emigrated to Israel. Drawing on her experiences, she has written several books, including Svobodná, volná,  Hančina cesta,  and The Girl from Terezin. She also frequently shares her story with the public as a speaker.
