On 26 October 2015 Czech Ambassador Ivo Schwarz together with Minister of Culture Daniel Herman awarded Mr. Yehuda Bauer by Gratias Agit. The festive ceremony took place in King David Hotel in Jerusalem under the presence of many distinguished guests from the Czech Republic and Israel. After the official part which finished by a concert of Czech Philharmonic Quartet Mr. Yehuda Bauer gave interviews to presented Czech journalists.
Gratias Agit is an award of Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Czech Republic given for promoting the good name of the Czech Republic abroad. The decorated person receives a diploma and a sculpture in the form of a globe. Yehuda Bauer, who could not participate at the official ceremony in Prague in June 2015, fundamentally contributed to the investigation and commemoration of the holocaust and to the positive development of Czech-Israeli relations.
