Honoring Fanny Neuda´s legacy with Dr. Aliza Lavie

MK and writer Aliza Lavie presented the incredbie Jewish women´s prayer book written by Fanny Neuda from the Czech town - Loštice.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv recently hosted an evening celebrating the legacy of Fanny Neuda, the Jewish author from the Moravian town of Loštice. Dr. Aliza Lavie, former Member of the Knesset, author and public intellectual, who presented her republished edition of Fanny Neuda´s historic Jewish women´s prayer book.
Originally published in 1855, Hours of Devotion became the first widely successful Jewish prayer book written by a woman for women. Dr. Lavie has helped bring this remarkable work back to modern readers, preserving and important part of Jewish and Czech cultural heritage.
The evening highlighted themes of spirituality, resilience and the enduring role of women in Jewish history, while celebrating the strong cultural ties between Czech Republic and Israel.
