
President of Czech Senate Milan Štěch visited Israel 2. - 4. 7. 2018

The President of Czech Senate Mr. Milan Štěch made from July 2 to July 4, 2018 a working visit in the State of Israel. He came to celebrate together with the Speaker of Knesset Y. Edelstein and the Speaker of Slovak National Council A. Danko the 70 years of the State of Israel and 100 years of Czechoslovakia. Part of the events was a festive evening in Knesset where Y. Edelstein awarded in memoriam the Czech Jan Kubiš and the Slovak Jozef Gabčík, who managed in 1942 to assassinate the Acting Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich, the chairman and initiator of the Wannsee conference, held at the same year to decide about holocaust. For this special event was prepared an exhibition about the first Czechoslovak president and big supporter of Zionism Tomáš Garrique Masaryk. Except of meeting with Mr. Y. Edelstein , the speakers of Czech and Slovak Parliament met with the President R. Rivlin a and Prime Minister B. Netanjahu.
